Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147: Will you tune in? (VIDEO)

OK, so it's not the main event Brazil was hoping for when the UFC announced a June event, since they thought they were going to see Chael Sonnen's rematch with Anderson Silva. After Vitor Belfort's injury forced him to pull out of the event, it's not even the runner-up to the event Brazil wanted. But looking at Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva in a vacuum, is it a bout you're excited about?

It's a rematch of their close, 2009 bout that ended in a unanimous decision for Franklin. Since then, Franklin is 1-2, with a win over Chuck Liddell and losses to Forrest Griffin and Vitor Belfort, while Silva is 2-1 with wins over Cung Le and Michael Bisping and a loss to Chris Leben. Is this bout at the top of the card enough to make you want to pay for UFC 147? Tell us in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Rich Franklin in at UFC 147 and Patrick Cote in at UFC 148

Vitor Belfort's broken hand resulted in shuffling of the fight cards at UFC 147 and 148. Rich Franklin has stepped in to fight Wanderlei Silva in the main event at UFC 147 in Brazil, and Patrick Cote will return to the UFC to fight Cung Le at UFC 148.

The Franklin-Silva bout will be fought at a catchweight of 195 lbs. It's a rematch of their 2009 bout that was won by Franklin in a close decision and earned both fighters a Fight of the Night bonus.

Franklin has once again proved his company man status. The former middleweight champ has stepped in to coach "The Ultimate Fighter" after Tito Ortiz was dismissed from coaching in the 11th season, knocked out Chuck Liddell with a broken arm not long after TUF, and fought at catchweights so that he could face the competition the UFC wanted.

Cote is getting another shot at the UFC after getting cut in 2010. He went from a title shot at UFC 90 to a three-fight losing skid. Since then, he won four fights outside the UFC and lobbied for a chance to return to the Octagon.

Tyron Woodley on Nate Marquardt’s use of testosterone and preparing for their bout

For his return to Strikeforce and championship bout with Tyron Woodley, Nate Marquardt said he is off the testosterone replacement therapy that led to his firing from the UFC. The one person who will be affected by Marquardt's hormone levels is his opponent on July 14.

But Woodley doesn't know if Marquardt is telling the truth, and doesn't care.

"It doesn't matter to me. I don't play into if he is or not. To me, a guy that's been on it his whole career, I think it's very hard to jump off that stuff," Woodley said to Cagewriter.

"Your body becomes dependent on it. If you bring in testosterone outside your body, it probably stops producing it because it thinks you're going to get it from the outside. Whether he's on it or not, I'm winning this fight. It's not going to be a factor."

With the Strikeforce welterweight belt on the line, Woodley says the stakes are high for Marquardt. Why would he change now?

"Be honest. When you have a fight this big, and it's for the world title, and you've been on it for your whole career, you're going to come off when it's for the marbles? I just don't know about that."

Woodley was surprised when he heard Marquardt call him a boring wrestler.

"I remember his agent and my agent making a fuss about an interview I did. Actually had an interview pulled because I talked about testosterone. I said to those guys, people are going to ask me about it. I'm going to give them my honest reply. When I'm asked if I think he's going to be on it, I said yeah. It made it seem like 10 seconds of the interview was the entire interview. But then I saw an interview he gave, and he called me a  boring wrestler. So it's OK for you to put out stuff where you're slinging mud, but I put out an interview, and I'm just stating facts. You tested positive three times. I'm not drawing something out of air. If they ask me a question. I'm going to answer it."

Marquardt's testosterone levels will not affect what the 10-0 Woodley will do in their bout.

"I have to prepare as if I'm fighting a robot. He's shown he's not going to give up. He'll stick in there and try to fight, try to win. I think his experience is the only real threat. He's been in there and faced a lot of top guys."

Woodley's plan for his first five-round bout is to keep up his energy throughout.

"I've got to be able to do damage five rounds, for five minutes. Every minute of the round, I've got to be active. I've got to open look for openings, opportunities. I watched a couple of his fights, but outside that, I'm working on myself."

Actress Charlize Theron wonders what her love of the UFC says about her

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron was out promoting "Prometheus" and "Snow White and the Huntsman" when she took a chance to discuss her love for the UFC. She told Conan O'Brien that a friend introduced her to fights and she hasn't looked back.

"I wonder what it says about me that I like sweaty, hot men bleeding all over each other and bashing each other in the face, but I can live with that," Theron said.

Oh, Charlize. You're not truly an MMA fan until you have that conversation with yourself. Welcome to the fold.

Thanks, Bloody Elbow.

Olympic wrestler Steve Mocco making transition to MMA

Steve Mocco won two NCAA wrestling titles and competed in the Olympics as a heavyweight. Now, he has his eyes set on dominating a new sport: MMA.

Mocco, who competed in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, has had MMA on his mind for years. After training with Antonio Silva to prepare him for his bout with Cain Velasquez, Mocco decided to make the jump. He'll train at American Top Team in Florida. Mocco told Sammy Perez of Joe Show Radio:

"This decision was a whirlwind. I was down there training and all the guys were great. Once they discovered I was interested in fighting, everything fell into place."

He didn't want to wait any longer because he knows his prime athletic years are numbered. He's hoping to get a fight before the end of the year.

The decision also was made easier by Mocco not making this year's Olympic team. He finished third at the Olympic Trials in April.

Mocco was a collegiate star and a controversial figure. He started his career and won a national title with Iowa, then after redshirting, transferred to Oklahoma State. With that move, Mocco competed for the top two wrestling programs in the country.

While wrestling in college, Mocco had several battles with future Bellator heavyweight champ Cole Konrad. They met twice in the national championship. Mocco also faced off with future UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, and was an Olympic teammate of Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix champ Daniel Cormier.

Mocco is following in the footsteps of several other wrestlers with elite, international experience to jump to MMA. Dan Henderson, Randy Couture, Joe Warren, Mo Lawal, Ben Askren and Cormier, among others, found success as fighters after wrestling at the highest levels.

JZ Cavalcante vs. Luis Palomino Set For CFA 7

After a disappointing loss to Issac Vallie-Flag in Strikeforce last month, Gesias Calvancante returns to the cage, looking for a quick turnaround, this time in the Championship Fighting Alliance cage. Stepping into the cage against "JZ" Calvancante (16-5, 2 NC) will be a Bellator veteran, the tough Peruvian Luis Palomino (19-7), who is riding a three-fight win-streak over the likes of Edson Berto, Charles Bennett, and James Warfield.

Erick Silva and Eddie Wineland big winners at UFC on FX 3

Several contenders distinguished themselves at UFC on FX 2 in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night.

Erick Silva continued his path of domination through the welterweight division with another first round win. This time, the victim was Charlie Brenneman.

Though Brenneman held off early submission attempts, he couldn't stay out of Silva's clutches for long. After getting the fight to the ground, Silva easily stretched out Brenneman and sunk in a rear naked choke to stop the bout at 4:33 in the first round. With that tapout, Silva won a $40,000 Submission of the Night bonus.

Silva now has two wins in the UFC, and his loss came by a weird disqualification. He's taken a step up in competition with every bout, and should continue to move up the crowded welterweight class.

Eddie Wineland sustained a large cut early in his fight with Scott Jorgensen, but that didn't slow either man. With blood gushing from his face, Wineland matched up with Jorgensen's wrestling for a tight first round. Wineland blew the bout open with a right cross in the second round. Jorgensen immediately dropped and the bout was stopped at 4:10 in the second round to give Wineland his first UFC win. For their exciting bout, Jorgensen and Wineland were rewarded an extra $40,000 each for Fight of the Night.

Josh Neer started strong against Mike Pyle, wobbling him several times in the first round, but Pyle got his revenge with a huge right hand. Neer was moving forward when Pyle caught him with a short right hook that sent Neer to the ground. The fight was stopped at 4:56 of the fight round. Like the other main card fighters, Pyle won $40,000, but for Knockout of the Night.
